Dr. Martin Luther King Jr
January 15, 1929 - April 4, 1968, American Baptist Minister, activist, humanitarian and leader of the African American Civil Rights Movement. King led the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom on August 28, 1963, in which he called for an end to racism in the United States along with civil and economic rights. His “I Have A Dream” speech, delivered to over 250,000 civil rights supporters from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., was a defining moment of the civil rights movement.
