Field of Dreams
The 1989 totally charming sports fantasy drama about the love of baseball, the American sport, and the concept: "If you build it, they will come”. It is uniquely a sports supernatural drama film, adapting W. P. Kinsella's 1982 novel "Shoeless Joe". It would be the final film role for superstar Burt Lancaster. It was nominated for three Academy Awards, including for Best Original Score, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Picture. In 2017, the film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant”.
