Sir Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
1807 - 1882
American poet, writer, educator who wove history, mythology and legend into captivating tales such as The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere. He was bestowed with an honorary doctorate of laws from Harvard, and it is said of him still today that “no other poet was so fully recognized in his lifetime” as he helped shape character and legacy.
