Description

RMS Titanic was the largest passenger steamship in the world when she left on her maiden voyage from England to New York City on April 10, 1912. But just 4 days later, on April 14, The Titanic struck an iceberg and sank beneath the sea by 2:20 the following morning, killing 1,517 of the 2,227 people in the deadliest peacetime maritime disaster in history. Owned by the White Star Lines, the ship was so accurately designed and failproof that it only carried lifeboats for 1,178 people. Here is a quite vintage 4”x6” original postcard of The Titanic signed by survivors: Michael Navratil, Eleanor Johnson Shuman, Eva Hart, E. E. Haisman, Mllvina Dean (youngest) and Edwina L.Troutt, plus an image of Captain Edward Smtih, Commodor and most senior captain of the White Star Lines.
